Écoles de médecine ostéopathique accréditées par la Canadian Osteopathic Association (COA) et l'Américan Ostéopathic Association (AOA), l'Osteopathic International Alliance (OIA) et la World Osteopathic Health Organisation (WOHO).
Ces écoles octroient le diplôme de docteur en ostéopathie (D.O.) après une formation universitaire rigoureuse similaire à celle des médecins. Le docteur en médecine ostéopathique a les mêmes droits et privilèges qu'un médecin de famille aux États-Unis ainsi que dans plusieurs autres pays dont le Canada.Par contre, seule le Collège des Médecins de l'Ontario a consenti à mettre en application leur propre règlement en acceptant des diplomés en médecine ostéopathique. À ce jour, et malgré une disposition du règlement du Collège des Médecins du Québec qui prévoit accepter comme membre les docteurs en ostéopathie, aucun docteur en médecine ostéopathique n'a pu y être accepté. C'est aussi le cas dans toutes les autres provinces canadiennes, mis à part l'Ontario.

RÈGLEMENT SUR LES CONDITIONS ET MODALITÉS DE DÉLIVRANCE DU PERMIS ET DES CERTIFICATS DE SPÉCIALISTE DU COLLÈGE DES MÉDECINS DU QUÉBEC
Le diplôme de docteur en ostéopathie décerné par une école de médecine ostéopathique située aux États-Unis équivaut à un diplôme de médecine, pourvu que cette école soit agréée par le « Bureau of Professional Education of the American Osteopathic Association » à la date où le diplôme est décerné et que son titulaire ait réussi les examens déterminés par le Bureau.
