The College of Osteopaths has specialised in the provision of part-time flexible osteopathic programmes since it was first established in 1948.
The College of Osteopaths has been successfully awarded recognised Qualification (RQ) status with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) for the London programme and is awaiting Privy Council confirmation of the successful outcome of the Keele programme. Graduation from a college with RQ status is required to enter the osteopathic profession.
The BSc (Hons) Osteopathy is a five-year part-time degree course, delivered in collaboration with Middlesex and Keele Universities. The Middlesex programme successfully gained 'Recognised Qualification'(RQ) status from the General Osteopathic Council in 2001, which means that graduates from the College will be entitled to apply for entry to the statutory Register of Osteopaths. The Keele programme is awaiting the Privy Council to confirm the recent recommendation by the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) to grant the course 'RQ' status.
The programme is specifically designed for those who are working full time, and those looking for a career change. The course is delivered over eighteen teaching weekends per year at Middlesex and Keele Universities. In addition to attendance at the teaching weekends, students are required to complete 1,200 hours in the teaching clinic as well as private home study.
